degen builds are nightmares for monks:P
btw: some1 with martyr will get all poison and bleeding away.

the best against this is:
monks removing as much hexes as possible while the team killing a mesmer or necro. When a necro and mesmer are dead there isnt much degen.

The build is pretty outdated. We modifyed it even more, it just meneldur wasnt there :P. That build up there imo is a incomplete version.

I didn't say it was the most up to date build, Wheel wanted to make a build database for people that are new to Tombs so they don't get forced to play IWAY. This build is the one that used to hold halls daily, and new players should be able to use it effectivly to get some fame. The fact is that this build has won halls more times than the "nOp" modification to it, you guys can run whatever you want.

Maybe the Cripling ranger would be better off with a 16/12/7 attribute spread now. The nerf hit that guy pretty hard.

15 is the breakpoint in Expertise for a Crip-Shot ranger now.

I was under the impression that due to the way Guild Wars always rounds the numbers up, a Crippling shot that is at 5.4 energy with 16 expertise is still 6 energy in practice?

Could be wrong. :<

GuildWars always rounds the numbers down, so 5.4 is 5 energy

new people aren't 'Forced' to play IWAY, most choose it. And they choose it for reasons identically oposite to why someone would chose this build. A degen build, especially one like this is a slow killing build. Against a bad team your match time will easily run over 10 minutes, a decent team double it. A good team, prolly 30 minutes, the match may never end if you don't get lucky. Against another degen build that is similar? The match will end when one team rage quits. No one wants to sit and spam hexes for a half hour for one fame, stuff like this doesnt work well anymore.

new people want to go in and play fast, they don't want to sit around and set shit up for an hour. You want a build for new people to play give them the extremely basic and no communication required build of 2 axe wars, 3 burn mesmers and 3 monks.

I really love this build, being playing it for a while now, with some small variations. Some of these being:

Ward Foes replaced by Ward Melee on the Migrane Mes.

Monks changed to standard Woh, Sb/infuse, RC prot.

Ranger rebuilt with choking gas & Poison Arrow.

Few other odds and ends changed.

I'm really curious as to your most recent amendments Meneldur. Any chance of a post or perhaps a PM if you didnt want to share it openly?

Dont know about it being an alternative to IWAY as I have noticed that most random R3/6 PuGs dont communicate enough with each other to pull this build off effectively, however, the guild group have taken halls quite a few times over the past month with this build.

no opposing party ran it with a mo/n with scourge healing and parasitic cover up, oob and healing. the monk would switch headpieces when it was holding mode time, this took the curse necro's place.

This is not true at all, I ran this build a few nights ago, and yes it kills slow just not that slow. We made it to halls and we got unlucky and had to fight to verse another team before the team holding. We killed them in 8 minutes (They were rank 9+ team) and didnt have enough time to kill the holding team.

At the time this build was played it ripped through teams fast enough to make peoples heads spin. And in the weeks following it's appearance, when people attempted to duplicate it the matches STILL went fast. I can't make a direct comment on how it would run now because the metagame is a bit different now then it was then. If the build isn't killing quick then the people running it are doing a poor job, mainly meaning the heal parties are not getting shut down properly. About degen though, it's relatively easy to play for a new-ish team. Not easy to play well, but thats true of any build. However, degen will allow for a reasonably high percent chance of success while allowing for certain errors or lapses on the part of the players in it. Nyog didn't make many such errors when playing it with their A team.
